Dentsu India has announced two key leadership appointments:
- Abhirup Datta has been appointed as the CEO of Sokrati, in addition to his current role as CEO, performance practice. He will continue to report to Anita Kotwani, CEO – media, South Asia, Dentsu. Datta recently joined Dentsu from Zee5 where he was head AVOD marketing and Youtube revenue.
- Prajaktta Gosavi, head of performance delivery practice, Dentsu India, has been tasked with leading integrated solution delivery for the performance practice across Sokrati, iProspect, Carat, and Dentsu X, reporting to Bhasker Jaiswal, COO—media, Dentsu, Prajaktta. Gosavi joined the agency over six years ago.

Bastion has expanded into New Zealand, extending its brand experience and strategic partnership services. In New Zealand, the experience division will be led by Joanna James, GM of Bastion Shine’s PR, social and experience offering. James joined Bastion Amplify in 2022 from Anthem, New Zealand. Prior to this, she worked at FCB, Porter Novelli, and InterContinental Hotels Group.
GroupM has been appointed by L’Oréal Korea as its media planning and buying partner, following a competitive process. GroupM’s remit in Korea will include all media planning and buying.
Zendesk has named Shashi Upadhyay as the new president of product, engineering, and AI. In his new role, Upadhyay will oversee product management, engineering, AI, design, programme management, and trust and security. Upadhyay joins Zendesk from Google, where he led the advertiser product portfolio and drove innovation as the leader of Google Ads, Google Analytics, DV3, SA3 and Performance Max. Prior to Google, he founded Lattice Engines, which was acquired by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) in 2019.
AdCounty Media has appointed Sanchit Sangha as board advisor. Sangha is a digital strategist with well over two decades of expertise.
Invnt Group Singapore recently won the LinkedIn account in a three-way competitive pitch. The work, Talent Connect 2025, will involve the Three City APAC Series, where LinkedIn hosts events in Singapore, Sydney and India in early 2025. Adding to Invnt's client portfolio is Xero, with the agency winning their annual Asia Roadshow.
Goodman Fielder, the food manufacturer, has named TBWA Sydney as its integrated creative agency for the Helga’s brand, following a competitive pitch. The agency will lead the brand experience for Helga’s, including all strategy and creative thinking. This new business win follows a recent win for TBWA, with Melbourne and Auckland winning the consolidated Kraft Heinz creative account.
Claudia Macdonald will leave Mango Communications Aotearoa at Christmas for personal reasons after working with DDB Group for 29 years. She started at DDB PR before launching Beyond PR, which then turned into Mango Communications in 2000. Before DDB, she worked at Weber Shandwick. Macdonald began her early career as a journalist in Dunedin.
Fenton Stephens, a Melbourne independent agency, has appointed Chris Ellis as executive creative director. Ellis joins the agency following a three-year stint at Special where he was creative director. Prior to Special, he worked at The Monkeys (now Droga5). Before that, he spent eight years at Cummins & Partners Melbourne.
Ooh!media’s chief revenue and growth officer PaullSigaloff will depart the company at the end of the year. Sigaloff joined the company in 2023 from Yahoo, where he was VP, head of APAC. He also worked for Verizon, and Fairfax Media before Yahoo.
PR and social agency Darkhorse has announced several recent hires and a 2025 New Zealand leadership team, as its New Zealand office continues to expand following multiple client wins like Briscoe Group, Snapchat, Manuka Health, SodaStream and NutriBullet.
- Managing director Francesca Kelly will lead Darkhorse New Zealand. Kelly joined Darkhorse in 2016 as head of digital media and then moved to general manager in 2020.
- Former head of experiential Pip Bagley, who joined the agency in 2019, moves into the role of director of operations, ANZ
- Kim Milne will step into the experiential group director position. Before Darkhorse, she worked at 212F, Go Conference Incentives and cievents.
Kraft Heinz Australia and New Zealand has appointed TBWA as its integrated creative agency to consolidate Kraft Heinz brands under one agency in the region, following a competitive pitch process. TBWA will service the account from its offices in Melbourne and Auckland, overseeing all strategic and creative output across Kraft Heinz’s diverse portfolio of brands, including Heinz, Gravox, and Wattie’s. TBWA Sydney had worked on Kraft Heinz’s account, for its Golden Circle brand, prior to this pitch.
The Shout Group, the Malaysian-owned and operated advertising holding company, has appointed Syahriza Badron as managing director, Wang Ie Tjer as executive creative director, and Jamie Tan as general manager. Along with Shaun Tay and Ong Shi Ping, the co-owners of The Shout Group, they will form the executive management team of FCB Shout, the group’s creative agency. Badron was the agency’s general manager and has been with FCB Shout for 11 years. Wang has worked with the agency for the past six years, and he was head of creative before the promotion. Tan has been elevated from head of operations to assume the role of general manager after being with the agency for 10 years.
Katy Guan has joined Anker Innovation as head of brand strategy to lead brand strategy and communications across global markets. Before this position, Guan was the brand strategy director at Mountains. Prior to joining Mountains, a Chinese brand consulting agency, she was head of planning at Energy BBDO. Guan won Campaign’s Agency of the Year award as Greater China Young Achiever of the Year in 2020 and Greater China Strategic/Brand Planner of the Year in 2021 when she was with BBDO China. She was also enlisted in Women to Watch Greater China in 2021.
Global digital agency Dept has appointed David Neal as its new global chief financial officer. In this role, Neal brings a proven track record in marketing and advertising sectors across South and Southeast Asia and global leadership positions. He was most recently the global CFO for Dentsu Creative and Dentsu's production unit, Tag. In his new role, Neal will be based in London.
