Move and win roundup: DDB, Nielsen, Lewis, Y&R and more

A weekly collection of notable people moves and account news.

PEOPLE MOVES

Nielsen Singapore appointed Johan Vrancken as managing director. Prior to this role, Vrancken led the Nielsen Innovation Practice that looks after 80 emerging markets globally. 

PR agency Lewis made several structural changes to its APAC management team. Eric Thain, former Red Bull brand chief, joined to lead the Shanghai office, while Hong Kong MD Emma Jenkins, moved into a regional VP role, based in Singapore. Fairil Yeo was promoted to Singapore MD. 

Red Card Global announced several leadership appointments: Sherman Tan was named as group CEO, Andhika Suksmana became CEO of Red Card Indonesia, and Yong-Chul Yun was appointed as managing director and group commercial director in Malaysia.

Pakistan-based Engro Corporation hired Umber Tanya Ansari as corporate communication advisor. Ansari had earlier spent seven years with UBL Fund Managers as head of communications and media. 

Bangalore-based martech agency Ad2Pro named Vikram Menon as president of global operations. Menon joined the agency from OgilvyOne Worldwide and Neo@Ogilvy where he was president and India country lead for the last four and a half years. Meanwhile, co-founders Gopal Krishnan and Todd Brownrout took on new roles as executive chairman and CEO respectively.

Y&R Thailand promoted Oliver Kittipong Veerataecha to president from his previous position as chief strategy and innovation officer. In his current newly created role, Veerataecha will head strategic planning on key and existing clients. He will work with Southeast Asia CEO Sanjay Bhasin on acquisitions and the development of new growth engines for the agency. 

Webling, a WPP-owned digital agency for the Australia and New Zealand markets appointed Carlos Guedes as associate creative director following ongoing growth within the agency’s business. Guedes joins from Snakk Media Group where he was creative director and a founding member of integrated mobile creative agency Touch Create.

DDB Sydney hired Tara Ford as executive creative director, a newly created role within the agency after several business wins including Virgin Australia and the consolidation of the McDonald’s account. 

Suya Kim joined MSL as managing director of Singapore. She was previously MD of Essence Burson-Marsteller in Malaysia. 

Communications firm Hume Brophy hired Holly Huang as director in Singapore. Huang specalises in financial services, real estate and energy.

SPRG Singapore made four new hires. Jian Yang and Jin Ooi joined as business directors, Norlin Samat as senior account director, and Ivan Lim as editor of SPRG Newsroom.

BUSINESS WINS

DeVries Global won the communications remit for Remy Cointreau in Singapore. The agency will handle PR for the full brand portfolio, which includes Louis XIII, Rémy Martin, Cointreau, Bruichladdich, The Botanist, and Mount Gay.

Habib Bank appointed MWM Studioz as its search agency in Pakistan. 

Allianz Global Investors appointed Tribal Worldwide Hong Kong to lead the development and execution of the international investment fund manager’s regional content marketing strategy. The remit covers Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. 

Independent agency BLK J announced a series new account wins including Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology 2017, Union Pay and SPH Radio

Mullen Lintas won the creative remit for Indian classified ad platform Quikr.

RTB House appointed PRecious Communications to lead its Southeast Asia communications work, focusing on Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
