Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore appoints planning director

SINGAPORE – Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore has announced the appointment of Melanie Cook to the position of planning director.

She joins Saatchi & Saatchi with 17 years of experience. Having worked at Arc, London on brands including, Tampax, Iams and Ariel for digital marketing and sales promotion, she then went on to the position of communications planning director at Rapier, London (Campaign’s Direct Agency of the Decade), where she worked on award-winning campaigns for Virgin Media and Lloyds TSB.

Prior to joining Saatchi’s Singapore office, she took up the position of planning partner at Handmade Digital, (a company she formed with three others), a centralised creative, strategic and project management hub for independent digital agencies.

Commenting on the appointment, Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore & Malaysia’s chief executive, Paul Roebuck said, “Melanie brings a wealth of multi-disciplinary experience to the agency, with a strong focus on digital and direct channels. She is the perfect complement to head the planning discipline in our expanding team in Singapore and reflects our desire to apply new, fresh and different perspectives across all areas of our clients’ businesses.”

Cook said, “I’m very excited about this the  role as I'm an entrepreneur at heart and at Saatchi & Saatchi original ideas and ways of thinking are positively encouraged. Our team is filled with people stretching the imagination and pushing the boundaries. In 2011, we’ll be re-framing brands and businesses through every medium looking to seamlessly combine the physical with the digital world as we all do in everyday life.”
