Shilpa Sinha, the APAC chief strategy officer at McCann Worldgroup, is a force to be reckoned with in the marketing industry. Her rise to the top has been shaped by her passion for driving social impact, from her early work in child rights to leading global campaigns. She began her career in grassroots organisations before becoming a strategic leader in cities like Shanghai, Moscow, and Mumbai.

Her journey spans across roles with Unilever, Ogilvy, and FCB, and she has channelled her vast experience as the go-to partner for regional clients at McCann. She’s also instrumental in launching and leading McCann’s large-scale Truth research series which includes studies on topics such as women and beauty, Thai youth, and pet parents. The research has helped McCann secure landmark partnerships such as the nine-month-long pitch for Ferrero. Aside from that, Sinha supervised the launch of McCann Content Studios in Singapore and Thailand which led to certifications and training sessions with Meta and TikTok.

Beyond business metrics, Sinha is an ardent advocate for DEI alongside Asian representation in global marketing. Her ‘Truth about Ascending Asia’ study has become a celebrated cultural touchpoint, fostering an appreciation for Asian diversity and uniting McCann’s regional offices. In an effort to unite diverse teams, Sinha also revived McCann’s APAC Strategic Leadership Coalition, transforming it into a vibrant forum for cross-market collaboration. She later introduced ‘Truth about Gender Disparity’, a study designed to spotlight and address barriers to women’s career growth.

Sinha walks the talk when it comes to being the change you seek in the world. Her stellar track record proves that leadership is not just about strategy, but rather about creating a legacy of inclusivity and innovation.
