Orient-Express appoints Heavens Portfolio as rep in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia

Shane Arrold, regional director of sales for Asia Pacific at Orient-Express, said the agency is the "perfect partner given their depth of relationships, market knowledge, ability to drive business and their expertise in representing products which offer unique travel experiences aimed to capture the imagination of discerning travellers".

Orient-Express's collection of travel packages includes rail journeys, canal cruises and river adventures on six continents. Beach resorts, safaris, restaurants have joined the portfolio of the luxury hotel cum adventure travel operator over the years.

All have their own names and personalities and are managed by local teams who regard them as their own properties and are encouraged to innovate and contribute new ideas, according to Arrold.

The Orient-Express brand emcompasses 45 hotel, cruise and luxury rail businesses in 22 countries, including properties such as Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Grand Hotel Europe in St Petersburg, Hotel Ritz Madrid, Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town, Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro and Maroma Resort and Spa on Mexico’s Riviera Maya.

Christine Galle, managing director of Heavens Portfolio, said Orient-Express defines what she would qualify a unique travel experience, which is the reason she started the company back in 2005.
