Coca-Cola launches music-marketing drive in Malaysia

KULA LUMPUR - Coca-Cola has launched a music-related marketing drive to cheer up Malaysian consumers in these down times.

Coca-Cola launches music-marketing drive in Malaysia
Conceived by McCann Erickson, the through-the-line drive features a 30-second TVC, a signature song and music video titled “Rentak Optimis” which is performed by Shila (The 8 Unit & Monkey Bone) and Dafi (KRU Music), two of Malaysia’s hottest up and coming singers.

Both the song and music video are available for download on Coke’s Malaysian website.

Along with the song and MTV, further promotions boasting prizes from Coca-Cola, Nokia, Universal Music and Apple have also been launched.

“Coca-Cola has always been the universal icon of positivity. The “Camni-lah!” (Malaysian slang for “the way it should be”) marketing platform is aimed at refreshing, uplifting and inspiring Malaysians to create better possibilities. When people are refreshed, they feel positive and that empowers them to take charge of their own lives. “Camni-lah!” is an invitation to live on the positive side of life. We live in a world where we make choices every day and Camni-lah! campaign encourages people to make those choices,” said Lin Jo-Yi, Coca-Cola’s brand manager for Malaysia.

”Through the Camni-lah! campaign we are trying to demonstrate the positive view on life and link it to the everyday life of a Malaysian consumer. By being part of the new Coke campaign, one can champion a happy-positive culture in Malaysia – create your own reality, listen to your heart and live life in full colour.”

The Coca-Cola “Camni-lah!” campaign was created specifically for the Malaysian market last year, to embrace the local culture and language, in line with the brand’s “Live on the Coke Side of Life” theme.
