Kwok is expected to expand BT's portfolio of services for existing multinational customers Unilever, P&G, and winning new business in key sectors of the Chinese market. The company works with domestic companies seeking global expansion such as Haier, Huawei and Air China, which require support in their IT infrastructure, networking service, data storage and data centres.

Kwok is from Hong Kong and is an IT veteran with more than 20 years of experience, 15 of which have been spent in Beijing. She was formerly managing director of International SOS, an international healthcare, medical assistance, and security services company.

Prior to this, Kwok was general manager of Microsoft Business Solutions and managing director of Microsoft’s manufacturing sector in Greater China. She drove Microsoft’s global strategy into China and established channel partner capacity across the country to accelerate business growth.

In March, BT appointed Ninder Takhar as marketing head for NE Asia, and promoted Ruth Rowan, previously director of UK marketing for BT Global Services, to the new head of BT Asia-Pacific marketing.

BT is a major global provider of communications services and solutions. Its principal activities include the provision of networked IT services globally; local, national and international telecommunications services to our customers for use at home, at work and on the move; broadband and internet products and services and converged fixed and mobile products and services.
