He will replace Roland Krueger, who has taken on the role of president of BMW Japan. Krueger has helmed the BMW Asia office since 2004 and will succeed Jesus Cordoba, who will be retiring by the end of this year.
Seibert has previously worked as managing director of BMW’s regional office in Panama and as president of BMW Mexico.
Kay Segler, senior vice-president of BMW Group importer markets, said, “We are pleased to appoint Mr. Seibert as the new managing director of BMW Asia. His previous experience as the head of a regional office, as well as a sales subsidiary, makes him the ideal candidate to head BMW Asia”.
Krueger’s four and a half years tenure with BMW Asia in Singapore has seen BMW and MINI brand sales up by 74 percent. With 4,008 BMW and MINI vehicles sold in 2007, the BMW Group grew by 3.9 percent from the previous year.
