Catch up on past people moves and business wins

Mobile network Circles.Life appointed Mindshare as its agency of record for Singapore. The news follows the recent announcement that VMLY&R has been appointed to handle creative duties for the brand. Gaurav Gupta, senior regional manager with the brand, said Mindshare worked with Circles.Life on a recent campaign and showed the ability to deliver "the right blend of speed, agility and intelligent challenge".

Tourism Tasmania appointed BMF as lead creative agency and Clemenger BBDO Sydney as lead digital agency. The initial tender drew 60 agencies to respond, and the client shortlisted four. 

Native advertising platform TripleLift has opened a Sydney office, servicing clients across the Asia Pacific region, led by country manager Kevin Delie, an early TripleLift employee who relocated from New York to Sydney. Penelope (Coleman) Lloyd will lead publisher relationships nationally for Australia and New Zealand; Luke Sroba, formerly of Publicis Media will provide consulting and support for agency trading desks and DSPs across the region as partner manager; Ethan Robinson will be sales director, ANZ.

Power tool maker Chervon appointed Town Square as its agency of record for Australia and New Zealand following a four-way competitive pitch. The Melbourne independent will manage brand strategy, creative, media, digital, social media, content development, activation and trade communications. Town Square will initially develop a fully integrated campaign for Chervon’s EGO Power Plus range of outdoor power equipment including mowers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers and blowers.

Australian brand agency Hulsbosch promoted Benni Weller to creative director, promoted Vivienne Buls to studio manager, appointed Mikey Hart as creative director and appointed Irma del Mundo as strategy director.

Mediacorp secured sole Singapore broadcast rights for the Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 Olympics from Dentsu Inc.

Video creation and production company 90 Seconds hired Joanna Wong as VP of marketing. Wong joined from Spotify, where she was APAC head of business marketing. Bringing 10 years' industry experience to the role, Wong will help oversee 90 Seconds' growth plans in the region. 

Na’im Brundage, formerly CMO at Invoke Malaysia, has established a digital marketing agency called Nobleman Creations. The agency will cater specifically to the digital marketing needs of SMEs and NGOs. Prior to Invoke, Brundage was with J Walter Thompson Kuala Lumpur working on Nestle's ice cream and confectionary account.

Malaysian independent agency network People ‘n Rich-H Group has officially launched a digital marketing consultancy arm called PeoplExperience, appointing Karan Tyagi as its CEO, and Naveen Thomas as director of digital and analytics. Tyagi was previously general manager of Carat Malaysia while Thomas worked with Dentsu Aegis Network for eight years with industry experience in banking and finance, travel, automotive and e-commerce.

McCann Shanghai has been awarded Skyworth TV’s global business in a multi-agency pitch for brand advertising strategy and creative services. Skyworth is in the process of upgrading its brand image, with communications focusing on brand perception overseas.

GroupM's Mindshare appointed Kerry Field managing director of its Melbourne office. She has been interim MD since September and has been with Mindshare since it launched 22 years ago, most recently as chief of talent since 2013, and before that as head of digital, head of innovation and general manager in Sydney.

Japan Airlines (JAL) appointed Akira Mitsumasu as vice president of global marketing. He will lead the newly established global marketing department to drive growth and innovation across JAL's international markets. He has over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry and has held multiple leadership roles within JAL, including most recently as VP of products and services planning. He also currently serves as an advisory board member on the CMO Council for Asia Pacific. The global marketing department has established centers of excellence in Los Angeles, London, Shanghai and Singapore.

Martech firm MaLogic appointed Leo Wong as managing partner and CEO of its media divisionHe was prevously CEO of Mindshare Greater China and then CEO of Modern Media Group.

After a pitch, Pizza Hut Australia appointed The Wired Agency to manage its social-media marketing. The end-to-end remit includes strategy, ideation, content production, community management, and organic and paid strategy. 

Impossible Foods, maker of plant-based meat substitutes, selected Lion & Lion to support its launch in Singapore and promote its "2.0" recipe in Hong Kong and Macau. Lion & Lion will handle all paid media management on Facebook, search and YouTube.

Lowe Lintas won creative duties for a Mobile Premier League debut campaign following a five-way pitch. Mobile Premier League is a mobile gaming platform that allows users to play online games like cricket, billiards and bike racing. It has over 15 million players and recently signed cricketer Virat Kohli as its brand ambassador.

LA-based Hawthorne, a performance-marketing agency announced expansion to Hong Kong and appointed Anant Deboor as regional MD. Deboor was previously MD at The Partners Singapore and has worked with HSBC, Unilever, Suntory, Rolex, Colgate-Palmolive and KEF as an advertising strategy planner and brand consultant. 

Singapore-based adtech company Adzymic expanded to New Zealand by partnering with Digital Commons as exclusive sales partner for its dynamic creative solution.
