Catch up on past people moves and business wins

Asus appointed J. Walter Thompson Asia Pacific for a global marketing campaign, to be run out of JWT's Singapore office. The agency said it will provide fully integrated strategy, brand, digital and communications for the campaign, which involves the PC segment and will be the brand's biggest single global marketing communications campaign to date. Work is underway and the work will roll out across several markets, which the agency said it could not name at this stage.

AdColony was granted Certified Against Fraud certification by TAG, The Trustworthy Accountability Group, highlighting its commitment to fighting ad fraud. AdColony is one of only a few exchanges to be TAG certified, as the organisation has stringent requirements for those looking to attain certification. 

Group IMD, a video advertising automation specialist, appointed Michael Atkins as regional director for Asia-Pacific. Atkins was previously executive director of Dentsu Y&R, where he spent four years. He will continue to be based in Tokyo and will work to expand Group IMD's business in Japan, China and Australia among other markets.

Mondelez International hired Mie-Leng Wong as regional CMO for Asia, Middle East and Africa. She was most recently APAC director, international brands at Heineken, and has also worked for Unilever. Wong will lead brand development and digital strategy for Mondelez's largest brands. 

Wine Australia, the national body supporting and promoting the Australian wine sector internationally, appointed R/GA Sydney as agency of record. The appointment will be funded by the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package, a three-year investment in growing the wine sector and showcasing wine tourism experiences. R/GA Sydney led the pitch while working collaboratively with the agecy's US and Shanghai offices.

Susan Chao starts as CEO of GroupM Taiwan this week, following the resignation of AP Lin. Chao will perform this role while continuing in her current position as MD of Mindshare Taiwan. 

Digital marketing and technology agency Valtech Australia appointed Andrew Davenport, former managing director of The White Agency (latterly WhiteGREY), as managing director. The company offers services including consulting, service design, optimisation and multi-channel platform rollouts and boasts clients including L’Oreal, Louis Vuitton, Audi, TAL, Ruralco and Foxtel.

Google promoted Fazal Ashfaq to performance lead for South Asia frontier. This is his second promotion since joining the technology company in 2014.

Eli Lilly and Company promoted Mahrukh Hira Mazher to head digital and brand management of the Trulicity diabetes portfolio. This is her 9th promotion since joining the global pharmaceutical company in 2010.

iProspect promoted Nate Shurilla to the regional head of innovation, tasked with pushing the borders of innovation and developing new offerings in website optimization with a large focus on voice; both digital assistants and voice search.

Lion & Lion appointed Isabella Hölmich Poulsen as the corporate communications manager to leading PR and marketing for the agency.

Gyro, the B2B agency under Dentsu Aegis Network, promoted Paul Hutt to APAC chief growth officer and Laura Bell to APAC client services director. Hutt was previously client services director at Carat Enterprise APAC, which merged with Band and Gyro Singapore to create Gyro APAC. Bell moved to Singapore from London five years ago to join Band, prior to the rebrand to Gyro.

In Vietnam, Kimberly Clark’s Kotex appointed The Purpose Group as its digital AOR for two years. The appointment was effective in January.

Merkle, part of Dentsu Aegis Network, appointed Ted Stites as APAC executive vice president of customer experience and marketing technology solutions. He was most recently executive vice president of customer experience at Merkle in the Americas. 

FCB Kuala Lumpur reported recent business wins from SASA and The Westin Desaru Coast. The latter chose Ignite, the group’s boutique agency, for upcoming opening promotions.

Lotame promoted Evgeny Popov to vice president for data solutions in APAC and Gaurav Seth to managing director in India. Popov was previously senior director of data solutions in APAC. Seth joined the company in 2015 as India country manager.

The Story Lab, part of Dentsu Aegis Network, appointed Geraldine Bravo as regional content sales and acquisition director for the Asia Pacific. She has worked in a variety of senior sales, marketing and promotion roles at companies including FremantleMedia Southeast Asia and Indovision (now MNC Sky Vision).

3M named Lewis for local marketing communications efforts in Malaysia. The agency will handle content generation, media relations and events.
