WPP and Omnicom Group tipped to win Huawei’s global brand consulting assignment

An undisclosed source close to the pitch said that both agencies are proposing scope of work and quotation to Huawei's procurement division. The assignment does not include creative, media or PR.

The pitch, which began in August, was led by Charlie Wei Chen, vice-president of corporate branding and communication. The pitch also involved Dentsu Group, IPG, and Publicis Groupe.

Reported in February, Huawei has appointed BBH as its global advertising agency for its devices business unit, following a pitch. Back in January, Leo Burnett Greater China was named to handle corporate communications and branding in the China market.
