Liao’s promotion marks a shift in the demarcation of South China and Hong Kong clients and the agency’s continuing growth in the region.

The agency explained that in recent years, its Hong Kong office has shown an increased integration with its mainland China offices. Clients such as Breitling, Canali, Emirates, Jumeirah Hotel Group, Mead Johnson and Michelin have retained Ruder Finn for nationwide services, which extend to Hong Kong. Meanwhile the Hong Kong Design Centre and IPC Information Systems have extended Ruder Finn’s service from Hong Kong to mainland China.

In her new role, Laio will consolidate the South China and Hong Kong operations with both offices reporting to her, and also expand Ruder Finn’s position and developing new clients.

For South China, Liao will to report to Elan Shou, SVP and MD of Ruder Finn China, while for Hong Kong, she will be reporting to Jean Michel Dumont, Ruder Finn Asia chairman.

Sharon has over 12 years experience in corporate and marketing communications. She joined Ruder Finn Shanghai in 2002 and has been instrumental in establishing Ruder Finn’s Guangzhou operation.

“I have known Sharon for well over a decade, and I have always been impressed by her strategic thinking and business acumen, as well as her leadership skills,” Dumont praised, “I am confident that Sharon’s new role will allow these qualities to shine even brighter”.
