Taylor, who joined Saatchi & Saatchi's Singapore office early last year was the CEO of Singapore and Malaysia, and was instrumental in winning the regional business for Mercke pharmaceuticals and Nippon Paint.

He replaced John Foley, who moved to Sydney to become CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia.

South East Asia CEO Patrick Brett said that Taylor's decision to return to New Zealand was a personal one. "It is a shame that he is going but it is a decision that we have to respect."

He added: "We will source a successor and in the meantime, I will be running Singapore and Malaysia offices myself," Brett told Media.
