The agency opened its doors in Singapore in March to serve as its regional headquarters for Southeast Asia. It won the Nokia account in its first competitive pitch, and will be in charge of revitalising the mobile phone brand across Malaysia and Singapore. Previously, Naked Communications has worked with Nokia in the UK, Europe and Australia.

Antony Wilson, head of marketing for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei at Nokia, admitted they were interested when Naked Communications opened in the region and invited them to a pitch as they were looking for fresh thinking. "They quickly proved they can offer that in Asia and we look forward to working with them over the next few months."

Meanwhile, the agency started pan-Asian work with Unilever Singapore on its regional hair care business. It already works with Unilever on a number of product categories in the Australian market.

Charmaine England, regional category vice-president for Unilever's hair care division, pointed out, "Naked offers a different agency model, allowing us to utilise them on a number of different challenging briefs that require a different approach."

Imogen Hewitt, managing partner at Naked Communications Singapore added that it marked a great start for the agency securing such desirable client projects in their first month of operation.
