According to sources from two holding companies participating in the review, Microsoft is looking to widen Windows’ presence in the market and specifically looking for an agency to tackle the issue of software piracy.

Sources added that presentations began last week and the process is not expected to be long-drawn.

Sources could not comment on the account’s budget or the contract’s duration.

News surfaced earlier this week that the company hired The Upper Storey to manage the creative and digital duties for its Microsoft Office 2010 account in Singapore.

The 2010 programme is slated to officially launch later this year.
