Kim, who has more than 23 years of agency experience, 21 of which were spent with McCann, will leave the agency in mid-August to a post outside the advertising industry, according to the agnecy.

Charles Cadell, president of McCann Worldgroup Asia-Pacific thanked Kim for his dedication and commitment and added, "Moving forward, it is critical that we find the right person for this role, but in light of our very strong existing management team, we are in no rush to do so."

Cadell confirmed to Campaign Asia-Pacific that the agency is looking for a local person to fill the role.

In the interim, an exco of four will assume full management of the agency. Yasuyuki Katagi, president, McCann Worldroup North Asia—Japan / Korea will oversee overall agency management. Kyu Koh, senior vice-president and chief financial officer, McCann Worldgroup Korea, will continue to hold financial responsibilities. And together SJ Kim, vice-president and general manager, McCann Korea, and Jay Hwang, group managing director, McCann Health Worldwide Korea, will manage agency operations and client services.

“Yasu is a proven strategic leader, and SJ, Kyu and Jay have been playing critical roles in the management of the agency together with Kim," Cadell said. "They can be credited for much of the success McCann achieved during this period."
