Korea's Hanwha pitches corporate account

SEOUL –South Korean conglomerate Hanwha Group is understood to have called a pitch for its corporate account, worth around US$15 million.

The account is currently handled in-house by Hanwha’s own agency, Hancomm. It has not been confirmed which outside agencies are competing for the business.

Hanwha Group is one of South Korea’s largest companies. Its business spans a number of industries ranging from explosives to manufacturing, construction, finance, leisure and energy. It has recently taken steps to expand its presence outside Korea, having launched business ventures in Cambodia and the US.

Earlier this month, the company’s chairman, Kim Seung-youn, was handed a four-year prison term for embezzlement.
