
According to the company, advertisers can purchase the space by time slot or location. Mantise made the capabilities available to 30 taxis this week. The company hopes to have 200 LCD-topped taxis by the end of the year and 500 in 2010.
The company adds that the capability can be used by companies to advertise that their locations are within a five-minute driving distance, and initial clients include local restaurant chain Fairwood and cosmetic company SaSa.
“Rather than seeing this medium as a push strategy, we can actively ‘pull’ consumers through e-coupons or SMS methods on the LCD screen,” said Mantise Media CEO Barry Ma.
