Hiring to the media and advertising sector in Singapore is set to grow, according to Hudson’s Q4 Report.
Over 71 per cent of respondents in the media, public relations and advertising sector said they expected to hire more staff in Q4, following a cautious start to the year.
Momentum has built up in the sector, resulting in increased hiring for both in-house PR departments and agencies.
The report also found that as many companies are increasing their marketing budgets again, there are more jobs and opportunities for advertising and marketing professionals.
The media, public relations and advertising sector was also found to have a very low proportion (29 per cent) of respondents who have encountered 'dishonesty' by candidates, in other words, exagerating their achievements.
This was attributed to the fact that managers in this sector tended to network effectively and use their contacts to check on potential employees, thus discouraging candidates from falsifying their achievements.
A third of respondents in the industry experience an average turnover rate of 10 per cent in the last six months. This is significantly lower than for other markets surveyed in Asia.
