Golf tournament taps brandRapport

HONG KONG - The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) has appointed brandRapport to provide PR and event activation services for its inaugural Asian Amateur Championship (AAC) in China later this year.

Golf tournament taps brandRapport
The event, which will feature 120 top amateur golfers from around the region, is supported by two of the biggest names in golf – The R&A, organiser of the (British) Open Championship, and the Masters Tournament.

Colin Phillips, honorary secretary of the APGC, said brandRapport “has extensive experience with major sporting events in Asia-Pacific and is ideally placed to assist us with such an important new initiative.”

Dan Parr, senior account director at brandRapport Asia-Pacific, added that golf has boomed as a marketing platform in Asia in the last decade and the AAC tournament “offers players from around the region the chance to qualify for two of the most important championships in world sport. [It] will be an opportunity to show how major organisations can help a sport grow at the grass roots level.”
