DDB, OMD and McDonald’s win big at 2010 MTR Advertising Awards

HONG KONG - DDB and OMD were the big winners at the MTR Advertising The Best of the Best Awards 2010 held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong last night, taking Creative and Media Agency of the Year, respectively.

DDB and OMD's joint effort on McDonald’s M Selections – Sakanan Supreme Burger campaign also won the Creative Best of the Best and a Gold for Best Innovative Campaign. 

DDO and OMD’s McDonald’s Dim Jack campaign also won the Gold award for Best Tactical Campaign, while DDB and PHD’s Vitasoy 70th Anniversary Campaign also took the gold in Best Use of Digital Media.

Germaine Tse of OMD won the Media Planner of the Year, while Irene Tsui was awarded Creative Professional of the Year.

The winner of 'The Best of the Best – Use of Media' was Sony Ericsson – FIFA. The first Augmented Reality interactive game was set in Hong Kong's Mong Kok Station during the time of World Cup. The campaign also won a Gold in Best Use of Integrated Media.

The public voted online for the 'My Favourite Campaign – Platinum' and it was awarded to McDonald's - Monopoly Promotion, which transformed the MTR platform to a huge Monopoly game board.

The ninth MTR Advertising The Best of the Best Awards was jointly organised by MTR Corporation and JCDecaux Pearl & Dean. The theme for this year’s Awards was 'Creative Supernova', emphasising MTR and JCDecaux Transport's devotion to introduce new advertising channels for the local advertising industry to manifest its creativity in Hong Kong.
