Called "Living positively", the new drive aims to integrate sustainability into all aspects of the business in Singapore. Among a number of initiatives, Coca-Cola Singapore has promised to launch its 'PlantBottle' packaging, made with 30 per cent plant material by 2013, and has promised its support to the global "exercise is medicine" campaign by the American College of Sports Medicine.
Antonio del Rosario, general manager of Coca-Cola Singapore, said the new push would help to keep the company at the forefront of community thinking on a range of important issues.
" 'Live positively' is a way for us to think holistically about sustainability efforts throughout the Coca-Cola system and in all the areas where our business interacts with society," he said at the programme's launch event on Friday. "We are committed to ensuring sustainability across seven key pillars."
These include areas such as beverage development (including adding more nutritional information to product labels), encouraging healthy living, sustainable packaging, energy efficiancy and water conservation.
