It is understood that R3 will run the pitch, which involves six agencies. Publicis is the incumbent, having been appointed as its regional advertising agency and strategic partner in September 2009 following a closed pitch involving McCann Worldwide and TBWA.

Th pitch in 2009 was also managed by R3.

Publicis was responsible for covering the works for BMW Group Asia´s importer markets in Southeast Asia, and was also the agency of record for Performance Motors - the authorised distributor of BMW in Singapore.

When contacted, BMW said it is undergoing a standard review regarding some agency contracts, and this is “simply an internal operational matter”.

Earlier this year, BMW Malaysia named Ogilvy & Mather Advertising as its retained ATL creative agency, following a four-way pitch.
