After three years heading the FIC's Malaysian operations, Chua has decided to "have a sabbatical" and return with his family to Singapore.

"It's been an intense three years and it's just time to stop and consider what to do next," Chua told Campaign Asia-Pacific. "Maybe I'll go meditate with Tibetan monks," he joked.

A spokesperson for Fox wished him all the best and said that the organisation was currently looking for his replacement.

In the interim, Avinash Himatsinghani, FIC's senior vice-president and general manager Southeast Asia, will add Chua's duties to his own and manage the Malaysian office out of Singapore, supported by the team leaders in Malaysia.

Chua first joined the FIC group in 2004 as marketing director for the National Geographic Channel Asia in Singapore. He was promoted to territory director - Singapore/ Malaysia/ Indonesia/ Brunei for the channel in 2008 and moved to Malaysia to lead FIC operations there in 2009.
