The APAC Effie Awards has released a shortlist of 138 entries vying to win at its 2017 awards, which take place on 21 April.

The finalists represent 13 countries, led by Australia, India and New Zealand.

BBDO leads with 45 finalist spots, followed by Ogilvy & Mather and MullenLowe with 27 and 15 entries, respectively.

The shortlist is the result of two rounds of judging headed by the awards chairman, Anthony Wong of Ogilvy & Mather and about 150 agency and client leaders from around Asia, working under six heads of jury:

  • Ashish Bhasin of Dentsu Aegis
  • Ike Kwon of Kia Motors
  • Jean-Paul Burge from BBDO Asia
  • Kitty Lun of Facebook
  • Nicole McMillan of The Wrigley Company
  • Ross Jackson of Bank of New Zealand.

More than 60 judges gathered in Singapore last week for the second round.
