GroupM appoints OMG's Lawrence Wan as e-Business Solutions head

SHANGHAI – GroupM China has announced that Lawrence Wan (pictured) has been appointed as managing director of e-Business Solutions, effective immediately. Wan reports to Bessie Lee, GroupM China CEO, and is based in Shanghai.

According to GroupM, Wan is responsible for the development of new systems, tools and methodologies to improve efficiency across all business units using digital solutions.

Based on those developments, he is also tasked to build new digital product and service platforms for GroupM's agencies to optimise the digital media opportunities and provide clients with a competitive advantage in the fast evolving Chinese media landscape.

Wan has 12 years' experience in the media and advertising industry in Canada, China and Hong Kong, most of which was spent in digital media business development and management.

Prior to joining GroupM, Wan was OMG China's general manager for digital, as well as digital director for Greater China at OMD/PHD.

"As the number one media communications group in China, GroupM is digitally proactive in our business solutions and in our operations," said Lee, "Lawrence is here to help us take advantage of technology to accelerate our drive for improvement and efficiency in everything we do."

Wan left OMD in June, along with four other senior executives.
