Hakuhodo and Canon beautify abandoned building in Budapest

A TVC for Canon's Pixma printers, set to debut at the end of this month and created by Hakuhodo Communications Asia and Hakuhodo Asia Pacific, required a 10-day shoot in Budapest, Hungary, as well as a cast of more than 130.

Intended to give "new life" to what is normally considered a "prosaic, functional" piece of equipment, according to the agency, the commercial features people from all walks of life using the printers to create various pieces of artwork. They then converge, flashmob style, to improve the looks of an abandoned building.

The ad will debut in theaters and cable, and will run in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. A 'making of' video will also be available at www.canonpixma.com.
