GLOBAL - Each year, Getty curates the year's defining images and videos. Here is 2014's collection.

From Getty's coverage of more than 16,000 news events, 28,000 sports events and 50,000 entertainment events, the image service has put together a report, Year in Focus

Featured are news images from the Air Malaysia passenger jet crash, the ongoing conflict in Syria, the Ebola epidemic in Liberia and the Hong Kong protests. Moments from the Cannes Film Festival, Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup also showcased alongside poignant imagery
remembering the life of comedian Robin Williams and the Fall of the Berlin Wall on its 25th anniversary.
