Coca-Cola lights up Malaysia's largest billboard

KUALA LUMPUR - Coca-Cola lit up Malaysia's high-rise Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in conjunction with the brand's 'Buka Semangat' campaign.

Covering over 11,500 square metres, the giant LED billboard featured imagery from Coca-Cola's advertising library. The billboard ran from 4 - 17 November.

"Coke wanted a campaign large enough to create disruption and consideration for the brand," said a campaign spokesperson. "Being the first company in Malaysia to light up a high-rise building was a good way to mark the launch of the 'Buka Coca-Cola, Buka Semangat' (Open Coca-Cola, Open Inspiration) campaign."

Agencies who worked on the campaign include Ogilvy & Mather, Universal McCann, Westcoast PR and Arachnid.

"Immediately after its premiere, user-generated videos on YouTube and comments on Facebook and Twitter surfaced. It snowballed from there, going viral online," added the spokesperson. Today, the official video on YouTube has over 27,000 hits.
