Airtel | 110 Million People Network and Delhi Half Marathon | India

India's leading telco Airtel has launched a corporate branding campaign to celebrate officially reaching 110 million people.

The commercial highlights the power of people and reminds viewers that ‘no man is an island’. Brand ambassador Shahrukh Khan, one of the most iconic celebrities in India, tells of his journey from being a ‘nobody’ to the high status he now enjoys. Khan pays tribute to the support of his friends that stood by him during difficult times, and the people he met who helped him along the way.

Airtel is also taking the opportunity to announce the re-design of the corporate logo. The logo is a mosaic of faces in India to illustrate the ‘people network’ concept of the telecom company.

Redifussion Y&R is behind the campaign and will be releasing the ad through local television channels and outdoor media.

Separately, Airtel is also sponsoring the Delhi Half Marathon. Khan is again featured in the television commercial for the event. Khan is shown as a child running through Delhi, behaving as a regular child. Discarding the glamour and complications of life as a star, Khan apparently wishes to return to chasing his dreams alongside his fellow countrymen.

The creative team of Redifussion Y&R said: “While every brand communication establishes the bigger idea, Airtel as a brand has risen beyond the basic mobility function of eliminating physical distances, and believes that we as individuals sprout various barriers within ourselves making our perspective towards the world very narrow.” The latest work for Airtel aims to break down those barriers and celebrate the joy of togetherness.
