The tool, called Click2Sales, originates from Pôle Nord, a French digital specialist Publicis Groupe acquired in 2006. Purposefully built for search, the tool tracks double-byte characters found on non-English language websites.
"I have pushing for this tool to be used here for some time," said Gareth Mulryan (pictured), digital director of ZenithOptimedia Asia-Pacific. "Search isn't done very well in this region - it is not monetised as it should be."
"This tool allows us to interact better with search engines and is the best ROI-drive I have seen. Importantly, it allows us to work on Baidu just as well as on Google."
The capability is operational in Australia, China, Taiwan, Singapore, India and Hong Kong.
Zenith is also introducing the mobile marketing agency Phone Valley to Asia. The company was acquired by Publicis Groupe in September 2007 and offers production as well as strategy and buying.
Zenith rolls out search and mobile marketing tools
SINGAPORE - ZenithOptimedia is rolling out a new search tool across the region which the agency claims gives its clients a competitive edge in search marketing on Chinese-language websites.
