A computer engineer turned digital strategist, Gulati has previously worked with Star TV and Times Group in India handling their online and mobile ventures.

Prashant Kumar, CEO of UM Malaysia said: “In 2009, UM was behind some of the most outstanding social marketing campaigns in Malaysia. In 2010, we plan to put it at the heart of more and more campaigns.”

Kumar added Gulati's "expertise in bridging the marketing realities with the tools and resources that social media has put into our hands" is expected to help UM's clients make the best of conversations taking place out there about their brands.

"His job is to ensure digital is not just about digital, but about marketing solutions.”

UM was behind Telekom Malaysia’s benchmark 'Everyone Connects' campaign that put social media at the heart of integration, making TM one of the largest brands on social networks in Malaysia.
