The week's top 10 most-read stories: Unilever's moves, Asia's label-minded consumers

ASIA-PACIFIC - Unilever figures strongly in this week's top 10, with the opening of its Singapore development centre, its digital appointment for Lux, and a case study out of Malaysia all making the list, along with the PRWeek Awards Asia winners.

The week's top 10 most-read stories: Unilever's moves, Asia's label-minded consumers

3. Lux names Singapore agency for digital ahead of global launch

4. Asian consumers most likely to respond to designer labels, ads: Nielsen

5. MediaCom Sport launches operations in Asia; appoints Jin Wei Toh as MD

6. SingTel celebrates hawker heritage by challenging TV chef Gordon Ramsay

10. CASE STUDY: How Unilever made inroads into the male grooming space in Malaysia

Top distractions

Because it's Friday and you deserve a break.

1. "Horrible Giant Babies Urge Londoners to Bet on the Royal Infant's Hair Color". That headline from Adweek says it all, but doesn't begin to prepare you for the eye-searing awfulness of this promotion for gambling website Paddy Power. Click if you dare.

2. If you clicked on the item above and are considering clawing your eyes out, wait. Just watch a Rube Goldberg contraption involving dogs, in this ad for Purina Beneful dog food. You'll feel better.

3. "All staff. All day. Genuine emails that people feel the need to send to all staff at my company."

4. We enjoyed this exuberantly bizarre series of ads for Japan's GU (part of Fast Retailing Group). We asked on Facebook and were informed they're by Dentsu Tokyo with production by AOI Pro.
