Prior to the appointment, he was the global head of digital strategy at Adidas, in the Amsterdam office.

Watson also worked with clients like Nokia and Saab, where he held the responsibilities for campaign planning. One of his works was a real-time Facebook campaign that ran for the duration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Brent Farrell, managing director of Tequila Singapore, said Watson’s outstanding capability in SEO integration, social media, buzz tracking, influencer relations, and content creation is balanced with pragmatism, innovation and a passion for creativity.

“He brings a proven and tested approach to what some clients feel to be an area that is fraught with risk. As our clients increase their focus in the areas of digital, mobile, search and social, he’s the right person to help them confidently activate their brand in these ever-evolving and increasingly important channels,” he added.

Meanwhile, Watson commented on his appointment, “Working with Adidas and in Amsterdam was a great time for me creatively and strategically, but I feel very much at home in Singapore and at Tequila, due to the team’s commitment to be best in class through insights and great work. It feels like a natural progression for me.”

Previously, he worked in London and Amsterdam.
