Steve Laue leads Synovate's banking, finance and insurance research for Greater China

GREATER CHINA - Synovate has appointed Steve Laue to the newly created role of MD of banking, finance and insurance research for Synovate in Greater China.

Laue (pictured) came on board on 6 April and is based in Hong Kong whilst overseeing development of business opportunities in China and Taiwan. He reports to Eliza Wong, CEO of Synovate Greater China.

A well-connected 30-year veteran in the financial services sector, Laue was most recently the director of financial services for Hong Kong at Nielsen where he worked for four years.

His resume also includes VP Asia Pacific at MasterCard, head of strategic alliances and new business development Commonwealth bank of Australia, head of global cards at HSBC and VP Thailand and Korea at American Express.

Laue's appointment follows a major senior management reorganisation to its Greater China research team, reported in February.
