Simon Lockyer and Andrew Leong depart McCann Singapore

SINGAPORE - Simon Lockyer (pictured), managing director of McCann Worldgroup Singapore, has left the agency.

Lockyer (pictured) was appointed to the newly created MD role last November.

Andrew Leong, who was hired as head of brand and engagement planning for McCann Worldgroup Singapore in April last year, has also left the agency.

Leong is understood to have been unwilling to relocate after a client shifted its business to a different McCann office; Lockyer’s departure is also thought to be related to client restructuring. The pair’s next moves are as yet unknown.

According to one source, Diageo brand Windsor is one of the clients shifting its account out of Singapore. It is focusing its activities on Seoul.

“Our business is changing and we find ourselves having to make certain tough decisions more often than before,” said Mark Ingrouille, McCann Worldgroup’s region director for Southeast Asia and CEO for Singapore, in a statement. “This is unfortunately one of those times. While the agency has seen a decent year in terms of winning new business, the relocation of two regional clients’ business from Singapore to another regional centre has resulted in us reallocating resources within the APAC region. We thank Simon and Andrew for their hard work and contribution to the agency and wish them all the best.”

Prior to joining McCann, Locker was general manager of international accounts at DDB Singapore. He has been based in the region for the past 15 years.

Leong joined the agency from DDB Shanghai, where he had worked as regional planning director.
