The firm is expanding to Singapore to build on existing business there and develop new opportunities with multinationals. 60 per cent of businesses in Singapore are multinationals, and 70 per cent of multinationals in the region use Singapore as their base.
It will be headed up by director Marianne Blamire who joined salt in 2007. “As well as helping our existing clients communicate better in Asia, we want to help Asian brands grow globally,” said Blamire. “The trend for brands to move from East to West is clear, and we believe our experience in helping brands create platforms and systems for global communication, can help Asian brands in that journey.”
salt was founded by Richard Cox and Andy Last in 2000 and runs consumer and corporate programmes for clients including ManpowerGroup, Tesco, Unilever and Wickes. It was recently named 2012 EMEA Corporate Consultancy of the Year by the Holmes Report and has developed and managed successful global campaigns for clients including Unilever Food Solutions, work that won the Global Public Relations award at the 2011 CIPR Excellence Awards.
“The biggest growth opportunities for most of our clients are in Asia, so it makes sense for us to be there,” says Andy Last, salt CEO. “Singapore is the perfect base for us to extend our work with brands looking to grow in the region.”
