Rob dePinto leaves chief technologist, Asia-Pacific, Tribal DDB role

HONG KONG - Rob dePinto has decided to step down from the post of chief technologist, DDB Group / Tribal DDB to pursue his own business interests.

dePinto told Campaign that he plans to consult and "do the odd project" for a while via his consultancy, ikkyo. 

"Rob is leaving to establish his own company—to pursue his dreams—something we always encourage our people to do," said Patrick Rona, president of Tribal DDB Asia-Pacific and chief digital officer for DDB Group Asia-Pacific. "His passion, enthusiasm and commitment to delivering great work will be missed." 

Regarding dePinto's replacement, Rona said that the agency has a "handful of candidates in the pipeline" and that he hopes to make an announcement soon. "In the meantime, I'm happy to say Rob will continue to help with critical projects as a consultant to ensure smooth delivery and so that we have time to recruit a suitable replacement for his role," Rona said.
