Based Hong Kong, de Pinto will report to Amanda King, president of Tribal DDB Asia-Pacific. His role is to ensure the agency stays in touch with the latest technologies in market and analyse the implications for clients.
“In this specialised role, Rob will identify platforms, technologies and processes that can be linked together to yield new value to clients,” said King.
De Pinto will closely monitor technology trends and identify medium and long-term opportunities to drive our clients’ businesses forward.
“With digital technology continually evolving and expanding into consumers’ lives, the CMO remit has grown exponentially,” said de Pinto.
He continues, “There is definitely more to understand, and more confusion than ever before, but what the CMO may not realise is that technology now exists to marry marketing activities and different parts of the enterprise. Opportunities are abundant, as long as you know where to look.”
De Pinto was most recently the managing director at RMG Connect Sydney. His previous experience includes twelve years in technology and business consulting, and established digital start-ups in Silicon Valley, New York and Sydney.
He also holds the US patent for an award-winning business model and behavioural targeting algorithm.
Recent developments for Tribal DDB in the region include merging with Rapp in New Zealand, scooping AOR for Volkswagen in Singapore and DBS Bank in Singapore and Hong Kong.
