River Orchid hires Y&R creative director

PHNOM PENH - Boutique advertising network River Orchid has appointed Young & Rubicam veteran Peter Sutherland (pictured) as executive creative director of River Orchid Cambodia.

Sutherland has held creative director roles for Y&R for the past 15 years in offices in Sydney, San Francisco, East Asia and most recently in the Middle East at Y&R Amman.

He will assume the position on 1 July, and will be based in Phnom Penh.

According to River Orchid, among Sutherland’s achievements is the win of more than 80 national and international awards, including a gold lion at Cannes. He is further credited with doubling the billings of Y&R Amman through new business wins.

“The energy and buzz of the Far East has always thrilled me, and I’m greatly looking forward to getting back to it,” Sutherland said in a release.

River Orchid, which has offices in Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Singapore, Vientiane and Yangon, works with clients including AirAsia, Coca-Cola, Intel, Unilever and Visa.
