PHD opens in Karachi

KARACHI - PHD has today opened an office in Pakistan, enabled through an affiliate partnership with local advertising and communications group Manhattan International.

The Karachi office will be the tenth Asia-Pacific bureau for the Omnicom media agency and will be headed up by chairman and managing director Dara Bashir Khan.

Khan has been in the media industry for more than 20 years in Pakistan, working with brands including Standard Chartered Bank, Toyota, Reckitt Benckiser, Gillette, FedEX, Etihad, Hino, HP and Visa.

“PHD has been looking at the Pakistani market for quite some time,” said Cheuk Chiang (pictured), PHD’s Asia-Pacific chief executive, adding that the agency’s partnership with Manhattan “will bring together two great cultures to form an even more dynamic team”.

“This partnership is a significant development for the group and will mark the start of a new era in PHD’s operations in this part of the region,” he added.
