OMD appoints Paul Spencer as managing director Thailand

BANGKOK - OMD has appointed GroupM's Paul Spencer (pictured) as managing director of its operations in Thailand.

Spencer, who will report to Maggie Choi, CEO of OMD Asia-Pacific, will lead the Thai office as CEO Bernard Sumayao has gone on extended leave, due to personal reasons.

At GroupM Thailand, he was partner, client leadership, running the Nestle AOR account. Spencer started his advertising career in London with McCann Erickson in 1992 and was transferred to Thailand in 1995 where he worked for nine years.

Formely general manager for Universal McCann Thailand as well, Spencer expanded his scope to become director of integration and was responsible for strengthening integrated marketing communication practices among companies operating under McCann WorldGroup.

Spencer said: “I have long admired the culture and the passion that the people within the OMD network has. It is an extremely well respected agency in the industry and I’m looking forward to be working with the team at a time when media communications is playing an ever more critical role in the success of clients’ business plans.”
