Tao will carry on his duties at Ogilvy Advertising Beijing while simultaneously driving the agency on a country level. He will report directly to CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Group China Shenan Chuang and will work closely with David Mayo, Ogilvy Advertising’s Asia-Pacific president.
Tao’s appointment also sees a restructure of the agency’s regional leadership as Ogilvy Shanghai’s managing director Michael Lee relocates to Hong Kong to assume the newly created role of president of strategic development for Greater China. In Hong Kong, Lee will manage accounts for Ogilvy Fashion and Ogilvy Auto.
Managing director of Ogilvy Advertising in Beijing Joyce Chang, meanwhile, will become managing director of Ogilvy Advertising Shanghai.
