Office chairs park themselves in latest Nissan ad

From Nissan’s Yokohama HQ: the carmaker offers the world a new vision of automation with the invention of ‘self-parking chairs’.

Office chairs park themselves in latest Nissan ad

A promotional video developed by TBWA Hakuhodo shows chairs that ‘park’ themselves neatly back in place at conference tables and office desks after a bunch of messy humans have left them in disarray.

All it takes is a clap to activate a system based on motion detectors and wireless signals. Ad Nut had trouble raising a loud enough noise to set things in motion, but then Ad Nut has always preferred standing desks anyway.

The video is of course designed to promote Nissan’s Park Assist self-parking technology, and the company sadly has no plan to make the chairs available any time soon.
