Nielsen Philippines MD Jay Bautista resigns

THE PHILIPPINES - Jay Bautista has stepped down from his role as managing director for media at The Nielsen Company Philippines, after 19 years of service.

It was reported that Bautista refused to disclose his next move, and there is no word on his replacement.

He worked in the Philippine Monitoring Services as a marketing assistant in 1993, responsible for business development and company accounts management, before the company was acquired by ACNielsen a year later. Bautista then worked at Televicion Espanola as marketing officer.

He was appointed as the associate director at AC Nielsen in July 2002, before he was promoted as the media research director at AGB Nielsen Media Research about two years later.

He was then named as the executive director, media at The Nielsen Company to take charge of the overall management of the Philippines market in 2005.

In 2011, Bautista became managing director for media to integrate Nielsen’s media assets (TV audience measurement and media research services) in support of the company’s 360 degree strategy.
