His appointment is to replace Jay Bautista, who resigned from the post at the end of January, to focus on his family and personal businesses.

Jamieson was most recently the managing director of Nielsen’s media business in New Zealand. During his six-year tenure, he led the launch of the company’s cross-platform audience measurement and planning solution.

He also championed the launch of Nielsen’s television audience measurement services in Papua New Guinea and Fiji, and direct mail monitoring service in New Zealand.

Prior to joining Nielsen, he worked at retail, FMCG, and liquor companies, holding various senior-level sales and marketing roles.

Commenting on the appointment, Jamieson said, “The opportunity for me is to come into this market and guide the team. My role really is to really get the team integrating and talking to each other.”

He noted that consumer behaviour in the Philippines is rapidly evolving, primarily as a result of the up-take of new technology, expanding media platforms, and shifting media-consumption habits.

“I look forward to working closely with these clients to tap into Nielsen’s unique insights to help them understand what consumers watch, listen to, read and interact with, and how this links to what they buy,” he added.

The Nielsen Company in the Philippines also saw another resignation recently, that of media officer Zenaida Santos.
