Mindshare APAC work sweeps top 3 spots in Warc Media 100 awards

Data-led work from the agency's Sydney, Shanghai and Mumbai offices powers Mindshare to the network title. A campaign by MediaCom Sydney also places in the top 10.

Three AI-based campaigns from APAC Mindshare offices have taken the top three spots on the Warc Media 100 list of the world's most-awarded campaigns for 2019.

The Mumbai office's 'Data lighthouse' infection-alert system for Lifebuoy finished third, while two AI-powered sports commentators took the top two spots; Monty the cricket commentator, created for Foxtel, put the Sydney office in first place, while the Shanghai team won second place for turning KFC's Colonel into an esports aficionado.

Warc's Creative 100 (released a week ago), Media 100 and Effective 100 (slated for release on March 17) are based on results in the industry's most important global and regional media award shows throughout 2019.

MediaCom Sydney and The Special Group earned sixth place on the Media 100 campaign list for the clever 'Australian Open ambush' for Uber Eats.

The above wins also put these four APAC GroupM shops on the list of the most-awarded agencies for the year, with Mindshare Shanghai, Sydney and Mumbai in second, third and fourth, respectively, and MediaCom Sydney in seventh. They're joined on that list by PHD Sydney in the 10th spot.

Mindshare tops the most-awarded network list globally, with 27 shops contributing to its total, eight of which are in the top 50, plus 16 campaigns ranked in the top 100. 

The United States still ran away with the most-awarded country title, more than doubling the point total of Australia in second position. China finished third and India seventh, with Vietnam somewhat of a surprise at 10th.
