Microsoft appoints Bates' Frederique Covington to marketing role

SINGAPORE – Microsoft has hired Frederique Covington, managing partner for Southeast Asia and head of strategy for Asia at Bates 141, as marcomms director for its APAC consumer and online business.

Covington will take on the role at the end of February.

“We have recently announced significant appointments of some of the best talents in the business to our regional marketing team, aiming to strengthen our engagement model with consumers.  We are thrilled to welcome Frederique Covington aboard,” said Haresh Khoobchandani, chief marketing officer, consumer and online division, Microsoft, Asia Pacific.

Covington assumed her position heading Bates in Southest Asia in June 2010, following the resignation of Digby Richards.

Prior to Bates, she worked at Ogilvy in LA and New York.
