Tam was president and CEO at DDB Group Hong Kong & Guangzhou and will now be responsible for the overall operation and client management of McGarryBowen China as the agency's new chief.

She will report to Phil Teeman, group managing director of Dentsu Aegis Network China. She has more than 20 years of experience in the advertising industry in Hong Kong, Shanghai and San Francisco.

Also reporting to Tam will be Gamble as the agency's new chief creative officer. He will oversee all creative work of McGarryBowen in China and also be on Dentsu Aegis Network's Regional Creative Council and Global Creative Galaxy. For the past 15 years, he served at DDB Hong Kong and Guangzhou with his latest promotion in February 2014.

"McGarryBowen is one of the most successful agency startups since its launch in Shanghai in 2012," said Teeman, who added that both Tam and Gamble have "challenger mindsets" that will enable the agency to speed up the realisation of its ambitions.

Their positions were empty before the boutique agency's new management structure was confirmed this year. The agency launched in 2012 with Andy Ho as founding MD and Troy Sullivan as ECD.
