Cadell was formerly regional managing director of McCann Worldgroup Southeast Asia and Australia. Joshi was executive chairman of McCann Worldgroup India. The joint leadership roles for the region are designed to maximise collaboration and both Cadell and Joshi will report directly to Nick Brien, chairman and chief executive of McCann Worldgroup.

Joshi will continue to strengthen McCann Worldgroup’s presence across South Asia, represented by India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Cadell, who will continue to be based in Singapore, is tasked with managing and growing the group's business across the region including in China, Japan, Korea and Australia.

Last December Yasuyuki Katagi was appointed CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan and Korea. He will report to Cadell. Last September, Katagi returned to the McCann network from his previous role as executive director of Ogilvy & Mather Japan as president and representative director of McCann Erickson Japan and McCann Worldgroup Japan.

"McCann Worldgroup has positioned itself for an ambitious growth strategy and realigning the region under Cadell’s and Joshi's leadership will drive deeper collaboration plus allow us to accelerate investment opportunities in a more cohesive manner,” said Brien.

Michael McLaren, former CEO and chairman of McCann Worldgroup Japan, has returned to New York to assume the newly created role of president, MRM East and chief client solutions director. In this new role, McLaren will assume executive leadership for MRM's operations across New York, Princeton and Detroit. In addition, he will be come executive owner of MRM's top 20 client relationships with global leadership across these key accounts as well as driving collaboration across McCann Worldgroup.

"McLaren has done a terrific job in Japan and this provides an excellent opportunity to build on that experience within MRM. I have every confidence in his ability to successfully help Bill Kolb to build MRM into a world-class powerhouse,” said Brien.
